Hi guys, it’s Friday and the start to the weekend. I look forward to this post each month cause I absolutely love Good Housekeeping Magazine and all their “recommendations” on their beauty under R250 page. In the past I have found some awesome products and some of them even made it into my monthly favorites posts.
As I have mentioned in my previous posts GH really appeals to all types of (mostly) women. You can be a young adult and they will have an article on how to kill an interview (which can be applicable to women of any age) or they’ll have 101 lunch ideas (their 101 series is another amazingly great series) They split their magazine into a couple of sections; – Beauty, Fashion, Home, Cooking and so much more. I can not recommend you pick up this magazine enough, I promise you each month you WILL find something applicable to you.
Now let me show you my picks for Beauty under R250.
Essence Stylist 18H Lash Extension Mascara
In the past I have not been the biggest Essence mascara fan. But to be honest and fair, I judge mascara quite harshly so only the best mascaras get my stamp of approval. In my defense, I am alway rooting for drugstore mascaras to be great. Well, this one is! I enjoy how it separates my lashes and the length it adds. Some other great qualities is that it is very long lasting, does not flake or transfer. The first time I used this mascara and had to take it off was a bit of a struggle. I told my husband that I was not sure if it impressed me, or annoyed me cause it was difficult to remove but still looked so good. This mascara contains fibre that aid in length and I suppose some fullness. You can get all of this for only around R65.
Dove Derma Spa in Cashmere Comfort Hand Treatment
Oh my! This is such a rich and luxurious hand cream and I can not get enough of it. I have already nearly finished this tube and have featured this hand treatment in 2 posts (Monthly Faves & Quick Review) I find this hand cream to be very hydrating and comforting to the skin. The smell is also something out of this world. Think spa meets fragrance shop. If you are sensitive to fragrances, you might not like this one as much. As for the consistency, this is a thin-ish cream that feels smooth on the hands. It does leave behind a slightly oily feel, but that dissipates quickly after application. When picking this up you will pay around R60, but try to grab it on a Click 3for2 sale.
Tresemme Botanique Shampoo & Conditioner
To be 100% honest, I am stills testing this product out, but I can tell you this much so far. The smell is amazing, you can really smell the coconut and then the clean scent follows very shortly. Its a very pleasant scent in the shower when I was my hair. This combo is suppose to nourish & replenish the hair and I feel that for dry and brittle hair this will be great. Unfortunately for my thin and fine hair it is a bit rich. I found that my hair gets oiler sooner and they are a bit heavier, but in saying that I would love to treat my hair every now and again with this rich and moisturizing combo and put life back into my hair. The size is also impressive being 750ml @ R80 each.
These were my picks for beauty under R250 from the Good Housekeeping Magazine. Go and check them out, you will love them. Also let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of these three products and what you thought of them
