Women’s Day Giveaway

This coming Wednesday we celebrate Women’s Day and what better way to celebrate than with a Women’s Day Giveaway?

We all know that one women who you secretly want to be, whether its for her beautiful skin, her way she elegantly just pulls everyone together or their compassion towards anyone. It’s these women that makes us want to be better. All of us posses the ability to be great, we just have to believe in ourselves. Women all over the world gets treated differently because of our gender, in the work place, at church and even sometimes at home. But this doesn’t get us down. We still strive for greatness and we still do our best. We as women can do anything we put our minds to.

It is so easy to judge another lady on what she is wearing or how her makeup is done, but what we do not know is that her toddler might have been very sick this morning and is in hospital – which mother in their right mind would then be concerned about fashion?  It is so easy to lecture a women on what they should have done and how they should react in a bad situation, rather than to lend a hand, be vulnerable and humble and ask how you can assist. Women have the ability to pull together a whole community and make it a better place to be, we are gatherers, providers and caretakers. God has given us the ability to care beyond all comprehension, to love beyond all bounds and to care more for others than ourselves.

In this post I want to set a challenge for you. For a whole week – 7 days – do one thing to empower a fellow lady. Compliment someone you do not get along with very well, help out a stranger. Be the change you want to see in the world. Forgive a person who wronged you and take them for a coffee. Not only will this free up space to love and car more, but it will set an example and inspire others to do the same.

As this is women month my giveaway will run until 31 August and two winners will be chosen. There will be two prizes with products from Elizabeth Arden.

  1. It has been and ALWAYS will be my mom. If I’m ever half the women and mom she is then I’ll be happy. She’s the most selfless, compassionate and gracious person. Some nights when I lay awake thinking about her my eyes fill with tears because of how much love I feel for this one human that it news overwhelming. I don’t only love her because she’s my mom but because I think she’s an angel walking on this earth. She does soooo much for others and forgets that she also needs to give some of herself, to herself. I pray for God’s light to continue shining over my mom’s life because my one wish is for my children to get to know the extraordinary human I had the privilege to call my mom.

  2. All the strong women changing the world and making it a better place.

I must say that my best friend, Elize Buchler, inspires me to be the best version of myself. She is adverse to gossip, she loves from the heart and she always gives people the benefit of the doubt. She is a giver of gifts whether it be a tin of handmade rusks to a slab of chocolate or a handpicked flower. She has taught me the art of gentleness and peace, something I’m still working on!

It has to be my mom. Last year she lost everything she’s ever owned in a fire and had to move in with family that ill-treated her. Shortly after that she had to relocate to a new province, new city to come and live with me and I know how difficult that must have been. Not once has she complained even though I can see she misses her friends and the familiarity of her home. She finds her strength from God and I wish a had an ounce of her faith. She continues to inspire me daily and pray for me daily.

  16. Hi! I think the lady who inspires me to be myself would be my sister. We are very similiar in so many ways, but mostly realise the deeper things in life are worth eternal value, she certainly inspires me to be more of me and less of what others’s opinions of me are

  17. The most inspirational woman to me is my Mom who is my rock in my life. She is an amazingly strong woman mentally, emotionally and spiritually and I am in such awe of her strength of courage, resilience and perseverance. Becoming a single Mom through tragic circumstances when my Dad died when I was a toddler, was a really devastating blow to her. She had to put aside her grief and concentrate on having to deal with the reality of being a single parent. She has made such tremendous sacrifices over the years and has always made me her No.1 priority. She is the most amazing woman, friend, sister, aunt, but more importantly MY MOM. Her unconditional love, unwavering support, absolute belief and trust in me inspires me daily to be a better person, to never give up no matter what life throws at you and has shaped me into the woman I am today. My Mom has with her amazing support and encouragement, helped me to follow my dreams of becoming a Civil Engineer and I have now completed my 3rd year at Varsity and in the process of doing a 1 year internship/work experience before going back for my final year to obtain my Degree. I am truly blessed and honoured to have her as MY MOM and Number 1 Woman in my life. She always puts others first without a thought for herself, she is a generous, sympathetic and kind-hearted woman. I sincerely hope to one day become such a role model to my own children.

Has to be my best friend (& #workwife) Shannon. We work in a high pressure environment, and despite the fact that she is now also having to get used to a pretty huge life change personally, she never let’s the smile drop from her face, is always around to offer a helping hand and just makes our office a sunnier and better place. If anyone deserves to be celebrated in my life for being amazing – it’s Shan!

  19. I would have to say my daughter as her sheer determination to succeed in life and reach for her dreams is an inspiration to me not only as a Mom but as a Woman. She is a remarkable young woman who knows what she wants in life and is gutsy enough to reach out and grab it with both hands. She makes me feel so honoured to be her Mom which makes me always strive to be a better Mom, Woman, Friend, Sister and Aunt. She really brings out the best in me and together we celebrate life despite everything.

  20. My mom and my late gran are my greatest inspiration. They have shown me that through any hardships a woman endures only builds up character and great inner strength that you thought never existed. They have taught me to be strong, stand strong and to live in faith, give your worries to God and leave it there and to let His spirit grow within me and to know that I will never walk alone. For their teachings I will forever be thankful, and with that I will pass down and inspire my little girls.
