Hi guys, it’s Monday again and I am back from my holiday, part to the rat race again. Last week was a bit of a hit and miss on my blog as I missed a few days of posting, but we will make up for it this week. Today is an exciting day as the new Elizabeth Arden Color Range is being launched. They have new lipsticks, lip liners and eyeshadow trios and I love them. Please note that the eyeshadows were sent to me and the lipstick I picked up myself. Let us get into the review : Elizabeth Arden Color Launch 2017.
Review : Elizabeth Arden Color Launch 2017
Eyes Wide Open Color Collection
This range contains 10 gorgeous eyeshadow trios. Each trio contains an enhance shade, a define shade and a highlight shade. There is something for each and everyone, from crazy colorful to beautiful bold and even something for us neutral girls. With the purchase of two trios you get a skinny Little Black Compact where these trios slide and clip in. On the inside there is a very generous sized mirror and the one side is magnified which is super helpful. The compact looks and feel luxurious and the shadows fit in perfectly with that look and feel.
The shadows feel extremely creamy, yet apply like normal powders. This is due to four carefully selected ingredients to create a feel of cream-like powders that glide across your lid. In the process it creates a soft focus and blurs imperfections. I have found the eyeshadows to be long wearing (take note that I always have to use an eyeshadow primer). Furthermore, these shadows blend like a dream, they also play well with each other. The one trio (on the left) has more glittery shadows, but still beautiful and the one on the right is more shimmery. Their pigmentation is on point and strong.
The only gripe I have is this. I think that for the older generation this might be a bit overwhelming. I can just imagine my grandma trying to navigate or create a look. Yes, there is some savvy girls out there, I just feel that and addition of two matte trios would have perfected the line.
These retails for R770 (that is two trios and the compact) and R385 for each interchangeable trio. You can find them at all department stores with an Elizabeth Arden Counter or their online stores.
Plush Up Lip Gelato in Plum Perfect
First off, when you purchase one of these lippies, demand your crash course in how to open it! It is so interesting, you press the EA rectangular and then push it down for the lipstick to slide out. In the full range there are 22 shades, unfortunately in SA we only have 10 available. Still, they are beautiful shades. They all look very intimidating in the tube, but goes on sheer with loads of hydration.
The formula contains peptides and hyaluronic acid to create smooth but fuller lips. I could feel my lips tingle a bit and they looked plumped and healthy. I think I did however chose a color very similar to my own lips, but the look it gave was natural and “your lips, but better”. Other ingredients include Shea Butter to help lock in moisture. Vitamin A & E and Rosemary extract which is rich in antioxidants to leave your lips soft and nourished. Interestingly there is also a gellified film former to create a cushion like texture to assist in locking in moisture. The era of matte lips is in the past as these hydrating lip gelatos take over, you will never want anything else.
02 Plum Perfect
Now lets be honest, a sheer lippie is not built to last hour after hour. I get a good hour of wear time and if I’m lucky I can push it to two hours. However, this formula is so forgiving and easy to apply (once you get the lid open) that re-applying is no problem. It also smells very pleasant. A lippie will set you back R295 at most department stores and their online stores. I think these will be perfect for summer and my lips will thank me for looking after them.
Both these products launch today – 18 September 2017 together with a line of lip liners at an Elizabeth Arden Counter. Go and swatch them, see which ones you like and pick them up, you will not be disappointed.
If you have tried these products tell me your thoughts in the comments below or tell me which ones you would like to pick up.
