I have been absent from my blog for a while, but I am back again. Hi there my friend and thank you for joining me againπ.Β So while I was away, I received this beautiful lippie from Elizabeth Arden. The story and campaign behind this single lipstick is too good not to share. There is so much power in the act of one woman uplifting another. When we put away our pride, it makes way for compassion! #MarchOn
#MArchOn
In 1912 Elizabeth Arden advocated for women’s rights, they provided red lipsticks to the suffragettes marching on fifth Avenue. Wearing such a bold red lip was not the order of the day in that time. Wearing a bold red lip became a symbol of the women’s movements and still today, is a token of female empowerment. Even 100 years later, Elizabeth Arden continues the founder’s legacy of advocating for women and honouring our ability to bring change to the world. Hence the introduction of the #MarchOn campaign.
“100% Of the proceeds from selling this lipstick will go towards the UN Women. They are an organisation that strive towards gender equality and women empowerment. They work globally to make the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals a reality for women. UN Women set global standards for achieving gender equality, and work with governments & social societies to design laws, policies, programmes and services needed to ensure that the standards are effectively implemented and truly benefit woman and girls worldwide.”
This lippie will make the perfect gift for Mother’s Day, or for a friend’s birthday. Not only will it be a gorgeous gift, but you will also support a great cause – #MarchOn.
You can find this at most retail stores (Edgars, Foschini, Truworths ect) @ R295. The lippie has been available since March. I have mentioned the shade Rose Petal in a previous post here. Well, this is from the same range and its beautiful.
Do you feel empowered when wearing a bold red lip? Like you can take on the world and still look gorgeous doing so? I urge you to try and empower a fellow Wonder Woman today. Whether it is with a compliment or a gesture of goodwill, we have the power within us to uplift other women to greater heights and be inspired by each other.
Love ya
This is such a beautiful lipstick! The packaging just makes my heart happy and who doesn’t love a good red lip.
