Elizabeth Arden has never let me down in the foundation department and I have tried a few from their Flawless Range. Keep on reading if you want to know why you need the Elizabeth Arden Bouncy Makeup.
So what is your requirements when choosing a foundation? I look for something that is comfortable on my skin. I do not wear foundation like a mask. Other than feeling comfortable, I also need my foundation to not look too oily or cakey. Oh and do not even get me started on the look of pores. So as you can see I have quite a tough requirement list. On top of it all, my foundation need to make me look at least 10 years younger!! ?
Lets start off with the packaging. Simple, elegant and to the point yet practical. On the inside of the compact there is a decent size mirror. Its big enough so that you won’t have to search where you are applying your foundation. But it isn’t too big to make the compact feel cluttered. Then you have a decent size of product, easy accessible and easy to work with. At the bottom there is a compartment housing a sponge for application. This last area has got tiny breathing holes right at the bottom to let air in so that your sponge will not get yucky. I love this packaging. It takes up minimal space when you have to pack a makeup bag (going to work or going on holiday) but it is pretty enough to also leave on your vanity desk.
There are 14 shades in the range which is very impressive, and I am sure you will find your colour match. The formula is beautiful, its like a putty but settles into something that would feel like a powder. It contains caffeine and mint oil to make your skin look refreshed and healthy. No more dullness! The formula is rather unique and the name fits it perfectly, Bouncy Makeup. In the pan the foundation feel and act almost like putty, but on the skin it dries down to a powder like foundation.
This to me hits all the right spots. I find it comfortable to wear all day, it lasts quite a good few hours on the skin and it doesn’t settle into pores or fine lines. I have even used the sponge that came with the compact, and although it took some getting use to, it wasn’t the worst sponge. Only thing I will mention that if you use too much at a time it tend to pile.
If this sounds like the foundation for you and you want to test it, visit any Elizabeth Arden counter at Edgars, Foschini or Woolworths. I would suggest you make use of their Red Door Service and have them match your correct colour. You can pick this up for R299.
If this is not quite what you are looking for, please check out my review (here) of your other option in the Elizabeth Arden Flawless range. Also check out their Perfecting Primer. These two go hand in hand and make a lovely duo.
