Testblock : September 2016

3 October 2016

Each week I choose 5 products to do a quick review on each morning. I have so many products and it’s so easy to get stuck in a rug using the same products over and over, so forcing myself to use different products not only make me work through my stash but I also get to enjoy everything. Let me run you through my month’s #testblock pics.
Week 1

Labello Vanilla & Macadamia Lip Butter – Out of all the Lip Butters in the range this is my favorite scent. This lip butter is extremely hydrating and it smell amazing. This is not the best at repairing chapped lips but cause it is so hydrating it’s gorgeous for maintaining healthy lips.
Oh So Heavenly Lip bubble in Vanilla Cup Cake – I believe in this balm and I put all my faith in this. So much that I have more than one or two in the house, in my bag and then at the office as well. It’s very moisturizing and hydrating and I turn to this bubbles when I need some help with chapped lips.
Oh So Heavenly Bedtime Treat Lip Balm – This balm is great for using at nigh. I do not find it as thick at the other tube balms and again is very hydrating. I still feel it the next morning and I know that it worked well throughout the night. It is also very affordable.
Uriage Soothing Repair Barrier Lip Balm – A great lip balm for maintaining healthy lips. It’s a thickish balm and does not spell like much. The slanted tip makes it easy to apply and it’s not too expensive, coming in at around R100 a tube at Clicks.
Elizabeth Arden Original Eight Hour Cream – This is a miracle cream! This is not just used on my lips but on my elbows, heels any dry patches or even some sores sometimes. It’s does not have the best smell, but you do get the odorless version and but the scent does not linger very long.
Week 2 – My collaboration with Zaneli from In out and around Soweto.

Catrice Sand Nudes Eyeshadow Palette – This is a very basic palette. The first shad is great for highlighting, the second is gorgeous for creating a blank canvas. The third shade is a stunning crease color with the fourth shade beautiful for all over the lid. The only difference between shade five and six is that the last one has got a bit of a sparkle to it. These shades are perfect to deepen the look and create an accent. The shadows blend nicely but they are not the most pigmented.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor – This is very pink on my skin tone, Im sure I can find a way to tone it a bit down. I enjoy the formula and the packaging is also good.
NYX Illuminator – A very natural highlight that works so well on my skin tone. It can be piled on and not look cakey at all. I love this!
Wet N Wild blusher in Pearlescent Pink – A very gorgeous blusher that is natural but build able. It’s a dusty pink color and I think it will suite a lot of skin tones.
Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Red – A stunning red lippie that is moisturizing and hydrating. It’s build able or you can leave it to be sheer.

Week 3

Gosh Eyeshadow – This eyeshadow can act as a great transition color or a pop of color on the lid. It blends well with a tiny bit of fall out but nothing a tap off will not fix.
Essence Matt Touch Blush – A  great matt blusher that blends well. It’s a peachy color that works well with my skin tone. I think this blusher might be better for lighter skin tones.
Elizabeth Arden Lip Liner in Orchid – A creamy liner that applies smoothly and such a great color. It can be used to just outline your lips or like I love using it is to fill in my whole lip and then just apply some lip balm over it.
Michellori Eyeliner in Black – Such a creamy liner that is build able. I have had it for about 4 years and it is still going strong.
Emanuel Ungaro in L’Amour Fou – A couple of months ago I received this in my Ruby Box. I have been looking for the full size product since then without any luck. It is such a luxurious and gorgeous scent. When I wear this I feel confidant and elegant.

Week 4

Essence I Like Long Lashes – A great mascara for length but I find that this transfer onto my lower eye area. The other problem is that this mascara is a bit crunchy. The wand and the bristles is great and I enjoy that.
Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express – This is another mascara that transfer to my lower eye area and I find the wand way too big for my liking. I really want to like this mascara but it is just not doing it for me.
Revlon Ultimate All-in-one – This mascara has got a wand that I need to get use to. I do not find that it gives me length or volume but I will keep playing and then I might just master it.
Smashbox Full Exposure – This mascara was not my favorite, but the more I use it the more I like it. The wand is a bit big but once I got use to it I started liking it more.
Benefit Roller Lash – This is my bae! My holy grail at the moment. It keeps a curl, open your eyes and last all day. The formula is also gorgeous!

Do you tune in every morning to check out the testblock. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments below. OH and the other thing is if you can let me know where to find that perfume please let me know as well.

Love ya
Melanie
